Maximizing Performance with a Heart Rate Monitor Workshop Weekend is a workshop for anyone interested in maximizing their health, fitness and performance using a heart rate monitor.  This workshop is packed with two (2) four (4) hour classroom sessions, one (1) endurance session and one (1) speed training session (Please bring your running or walking attire. You are going to need it!).  The workshop has information that applies to everyone, from convalescents to weekend warriors to competitive athletes!

Overview

If you are interested in learning how to maximize your athletic performance, then you don't want to miss this workshop.  The material covered will help you recover from surgery, loose those extra pounds or set a PR (personal record) at your next athletic event.  You will learn why heart rate monitors are the best way to measure your workout intensity and control the urge to workout too hard.

Learn how to avoid the most common workout mistake that everyone makes, from the "New Years Resolutioner" to the accomplished athlete.   Maximize your performance by using a heart rate monitor to workout at the correct intensity for your current fitness level and goal.

A sample weekend schedule would include:

Friday evening

Classroom part 1- Four (4) hours of classroom, learning about the fuel system, overloading principle, calculating your aerobic heart rate range and your resting heart rate

Saturday morning

Cardio Training - Run or walk using a downloadable Polar heart rate monitor to improve your cardiovascular system, utilize body fat and reduce your injuries.  

Download your heart rate data and analyze your workout.

Saturday afternoon

Classroom part 2 - Four (4) hours of classroom, learning about designing, implementing and modifying your training program using a heart rate monitor

Saturday evening

No-host dinner with workshop attendees.  Get your heart rate monitor questions answered before, during and after dinner

Sunday morning

Speed Training - (run or walk) Use a downloadable Polar heart rate monitor to improve your speed safely, efficiently and effectively.   Learn to love speed training with the help of your heart rate monitor.

Download your heart rate data and analyze your workout.
